The pushbutton filler was one of the most commonly used systems worldwide. After unscrewing the blind cap (1) at the end of the barrel the push button (2) has to be pressed down, thus compressing the rubber sac (4) by means of a flexible metal band (3). By releasing the push button the rubber sac assumes its original shape thus sucking up the ink.
